design

I believe there is a foundation that must be laid even before digging the footing.  A well-planned design and the final plan set will create that foundation.  Using cognizant communication and customer participation, we will capture your ideas.  Then we will consider trends and best practices to produce a set of working drawings that will communicate every necessary aspect of your dream home, addition, or remodel to the financier and builder you choose.

consulting

When you enlist DR Home Design and Consulting as your home designer, I meet with you and listen to your ideas, then provide direction and input as we step through the process to produce your final plan set.  To inform and inspire you, I maintain a blog that provides relevant information on home planning, designing, building, and maintaining as well as a journal of some of my own projects.  A great way to help you collect ideas and collaborate with me, is using Houzz Ideabooks.

local

If you live in the Arkansas River Valley or surrounding area, I will meet with you to review your ideas and address any questions you may have.  If you permit me to assist you, we will begin the planning and design process.  I will be available by email, text, or phone.  I will provide preliminary review plans by email for mark up and comment.  Your final plan set will include one printed 11×17 carry set, one printed working drawing set, and a PDF set by email.

outide the river valley

I will be glad to schedule a meeting on Skype or Facebook Messenger to review your ideas and address any questions you may have.   If you permit me to assist you, we will begin the planning and design process.  I will be available by email, text, or phone.  I will provide preliminary review plans by email for mark up and comment.  I will send your final plan set as PDFs that can be printed by any print and copy provider on a large format printer.

here is my 3-step process

Pre-planning: It is very important to understand your total project.  This is more than just your home construction cost.  The Dream Sheet will help you get a “big picture” of what you want your home to be. The Reality Check Checklist will help you understand the scope of your project and answer some important questions that your designer, financier, and builder will want to know.

Design: “What will my home look like?”  No matter where you are in answering that question, I will use my expertise to help you find an authentic answer.  The Requirements Planner is a way to begin this process.  Creating and sharing your Houzz Ideabook with me is a great way to collaborate on ideas.  My blog provides insight into trends and personal insight into many aspects of home design and construction.

Construction Drawings: Your final plan set is the result of the planning and design process.  Since this is the primary method of communicating details of your authentic design to a financier and builder, it’s important to select the appropriate plan set.
